Dear listener, once again, you have recordings of another great Transylvanian “prímás”- a fiddler in your hands. Aladár Csiszár’s music is the dances and music of the Upper-Maros [Mureş] and Nyárad [Niraj] River regions intertwined. To fans of the folklore of this region, Magyarpéterlaka [Petrilaca] is a familiar name. Field recordings were made of the band from this village in the sixties (Bálint Sárosi), but musicians of the Hungarian dance house movement (the Kalamajka Band, András Vavrinecz, Antal Fekete “Puma”, Pál Pallagi) often went this village looking for its musicians.
